Bluetooth audio and phone system using one device

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi,

Is it possible to use the same phone for playing music over bluetooth and use the same device for making phone call using jcars bluetooth phone system? Please help. It seems to me that we can either connect a device as a phone or audio player. Am I doing something wrong?

Do you mean... It seems to me that we can't connect a device, either as a phone or audio player.

I don't think I've heard of anyone Bluetoothing their Phone to supply the Car with Music with the older EX35's.

I think it has to be done using Cables, or utilizing a Memory Chip in the Slot.

I've got an '10 and yes, I can bluetooth music and phone. Pretty easy to do. I'm not sure I even read my manual to do it.

Thanks everyone.

Can you please share the details with us. How to do that?

Regarding first post: yes, I was referring to one phone device (dell streak) that can be use as audio (playing music) and phone using Bluetooth of the car.

I've got an LG and a 2010 EX. Is yours an EX? I'm not sure it works on the earlier models.

Like I said, it is pretty straight forward. I think it's in settings, but if not, check the manual.
I admit that I haven't tried making a call while listening to music through the phone, but I think I recall seeing the signal strength of the phone in the display while listening. I would think it would be no different than when I listen through my blue tooth headphones. When a call comes in, it switches to the phone mode.

I do believe you have to identify the phone you want to listen to.

Thanks for the update. I too have EX' 10. I did connected my phone for the first time by selecting NO to the message on the screen (CAR) that appears when you connect you phone via Bluetooth. Once done it adds my dell streak to audio device and I do not see my same phone in phone device list (device connected). Also, I do not see the Signal strength symbol in the right corner of the screen (CAR). Please give me details how did you connect you phone for the first time? Was is by selecting Audio or phone device?

Hmm, I don't recall, but normally now when I enter the car, the phone is connected. If I want audio from the phone I go to settings, bluetooth, and then activate it there. Again, it is really easy for me, so I really don't think about how I do it. I just tried it today.
And FWIW, the sound quality is dang good. Hope you can get yours to link. I don't recall how I did mine the first time.
You can always uninstall and reinstall the phone if you're still not getting it. Do you have manual? If note, there should be a link on this site, and I know INFINITI has it online too.
