I have connected a Bluetooth adapter under my cupholder and the only way I switch songs are through my iPhone or the << >> buttons on the radio. I was wondering if there is a certain way to program my steering wheel on the left side switch to go up and down to change the song. Right now this only changes the music settings from AUX to FM to AM and then back to AUX.

AFAIK the steering wheel controls are a basic input system and cannot be programmed.

Not sure what adapter you got, but you may want to re-invest in a USA Spec. PA15-NIS or PA15-INFI depending on if you have a SAT capable radio. This is BY FAR the best integration of an iPod/iPhone into the M that this community has seen. The controls will work as you desire.

Here is my YouTube review of it:

I'd listen to Ilya on this one. I used the Audiovix Media Bridge for mine and I have to move from song to song with the phone.

you could always trade in your '06 for an '11 or newer - I can control my iphone 4s hooked up to the ipod connector and my iphone 6 connected by bluetooth with the phone, audio controls on the console, AND the steering wheel controls!!! jk

Seriously, though you haven't given details about your ride - does it have SAT or XM? do you have your bluetooth plugged in using the RCA jacks in the rear of the middle console? - I don't think there is a bluetooth adapter that will let you use your steering wheel controls if you have it set up that way

Well that sucks, and I think trading in for an 11' is going to take just a few more bucks haha. But I have SAT, I didnt install the set up but I think its set up in the middle of the console.

Then the USA spec is the way to go - don't get the Grom unit. Ilya, will be the first to caution you on that POS. If you do a search on bluetooth music streaming you can find guys' opinions on both.

I've reviewed both and as stated before; someone should go Milton from Office Space on Grom's a** and burn that place to the ground. What a waste of $150 that was. Stick to USA Spec.
