As I have been recieving alot of scrutiny about Bluebirds and the engine availible in them, I figure I will post this thread for all your inputs. I have been researching these vehicles ever since I've had my altima (2 years). I've been on altimas.net ever before I was able to drive. There are numerous threads over there discussing engines availible in the U13 Bluebird. Here they are from what I have gathered: Ka24de FWDSr20de FWDSr20det AWD (Attessa SSS)Ca18de FWD

I may have left some out, but those are the most popular engines found in the Jspec birds. Fill me in

I'm just tired of seeing people think that all Bluebirds were turbo and AWD, when that's nto the case.

well most people think that becuase its obviously the top of hte line bluebird, same thing when u always hear about corvettes, usually people just assume they're talking about the 4o5hp zo6, as its the more powerful version

you are right. nz is full of jdm imports and we got locally made bluebirds too, most of which are true nanna's cars. the turbo ones are almost rare and make good sleepers because they look much the same as the atmo's.i don't think the U13 did get a CA18 but i know some got a SR18DE, i have not heard of a FWD SR20DET, i thought they were all 4WD, sorry i mean AWD:pface

its basically a small capacity SR20, smaller bore or something. it has similar power specs to a CA18 and goes well in a light car like the pulsar GTi.

it had a tri-turbo??, and i just never heard of it before, i pretty much figured it was a smaller capacity SR, but doesnt seem to make much sense to me if they already had the ca18, unless they took the ca18, did some major changes but left the 'literage' (sp?) the same and called it an SR

there was no turbo version to my knowledge, certainly no triple turbo, mores the pity:rolleyes it really is just a small SR20, alloy block, timing chain and the cams/valves probably use rockers too. they even sound much the same.it and the SR20 pretty much replaced the CA series in the japanese market:(

I'm headin otu the local auto-x track this sunday with the 240. The altima is still here, for-sale, but it's still in the family. Might be able to take that out to compare with the s13.

Haven't had time to take it out yet. I know of a few L30's running through the cones and are doing well. I would be the only U13 on the track in my town if I could just get the time off from work.

Hmm, you gotta get out. I bought an s13 just for autocrossing, and I love it.
