Also how do all the materials feel to the touch after dipping them? are they comfortable or do they feel out of place

I would be very careful trying to do that. A lot of guys have tried, and all have messed up their gauges.

And the pieces are very smooth to the touch. My paint job was on point.

Looks like you've answered one of my questions, so it's painted and not vinyl. I've thought about doing this for a while now; exterior color matching (Code Red) all metallic and chrome interior pieces. Glad to see someone else do it to give me an idea how it looks, and btw it looks sweet. You thought about hitting the chrome rings around the AC and radio knobs (they come off easy), also the chrome around the air vents (disconnect battery first; car will think you've been in a collision) with some paint too?

Thanks. I'm debating the rings but i think i might leave them as is since inside door handles are chrome

I'm thinking about wrapping my interior door handle black. Youtube "vinyl wrapping door handles," you'll see people wrapping there exterior handles but the concept is the same.

how did you dip the steering wheel? I've been trying to dip mine too but my left steering wheel bolt is a security bolt that no dealerships or shops have sockets for. Is that just me?

That's weird. Mine was just a regular bolt. And so has everyone else that I know that took theirs off.

hm. alright, i'll try to take a picture later and make a new post and see if anyone can help. :wtf2:
so you did take off the entire steering wheel to dip the wheel? or did the plastic parts come off separately before you had to remove the whole thing?

I disconnected the center/air bag. And the side parts come off. Well you have to unscrew them, but it comes off. You dont take the WHOLE thing off. Idk why there would be a security bolt.

Apparently it was an option from the factory that the previous owner decided to get. "Anti-theft airbag bolts" looks like this:

Have you tried calling a different Nissan, and see what they say over the phone about it? I'm sure someone has to know at Nissan. lol No worries about off topic. I always like to try to help out a fellow coupe owner. :dblthumb: :mike

Hey man I wanted to double check - This is plasti-dip correct?

The emblem on the steering wheel - was that removed for the painting process or did you just mask and spray?

Also, would you mind giving a break down on how to removed the parts on the steering wheel? I tried looking on the forum but I couldn't find in-depth enough instructions.

Yes it's plasti dip. The emblem on steering wheel i kept on. Just taped it off and covered surrounding areas. There should be a thread on here on how to take it apart. Altho i know the photos dont show in it. I checked when i did mine. Lol

Did you clear coat or anything on top of the plasti?

Yea its a bummer. Still a noob with cars and I don't want to f*** anything up.

Looks amazing though. Super jelly of the blue gauges. Sucks the guy that use to do them quit. I'll have to just take solace in the fact my gauges are mostly white and not amber. Totally want to copy this look now though. Debating on red or purple with my crimson black coupe.

No on the clear coat. Just the dip. I didn't want it to look glossy or anything. And gloss makes it harder to take off. It should be fine. Unless you plan on beating up the interior lol I've taken my interior off so many times. It becomes a regular thing. Lol

and yea everyone always drools over my gauges, I'm really glad I got it while he was still doing it. I think i was one of the first ppl on the list lol
