It appears to be paint and I never tried removing them because I have chrome wheels and I feard it would leave a blemish on the finish of the chrome.
Another Mystery solved.wingFeather wrote:From the web:
"Apparently every tire, no matter how good or expensive, is slightly out of round and has small variations in sidewall stiffness. And every wheel is, likewise, out-of-round by a small amount. What they try to do is match the hard spot/high spot in the tire with the low spot on the wheel. The low spot on the wheel is where the blue spot is. Then I noticed the blue spot on the wheel is directly opposite a red spot on the tire - obviously where the high/hard spot on the tire is."
I was going to post something similar, but you got to it first. Thanks!wingFeather wrote:From the web:

Yes, this is the reason, and it is good to get any tire replacement person to follow this ... it allows smaller weights to be used to do the final balance.

Not a major issue. Another approach is to line up the tire dots with the valve location ...Wangtang408 wrote:Thank you all, I didn't know what they were for so I removed them :-/

Where did you buy your M from? The dealer (if so, was it Frontier Infiniti)? Or some other place?
