I bought it from here:http://www.jhpusa.com/catalog/...29831

$105 Shipped and it only took 2 days to get here! (Cali > Florida)

The quality is very high! it's made out of that kind of hard plastic that if you were to hit it with a hammer it would dent rather then crack.

it came with all required hardware for the install.

The install took 45 minutes start to finish.

There is a very noticeable difference in sound! the engine roars now when you get on it.

There was a noticeable gain in the mid range (3k-5k) I would say it feels about 10hp (but dyno)

I'm happy for the price, I can't imagine paying $300 for one though... but that's because I'm Poor

I read that the stock strut bar will not fit over a plenum spacer that is larger than 5/16". Did you have any problems?

The G35 doesn't have an OEM strut tower brace. The engine cover will fit easily with the 5/16 spacer. The 1/2 spacer will require some clever engineering...see Beancooker's FAQ on it.

Well remember this is a 3/4 Spacer... it's the biggest you can get.

I have the motordyne, and it was very well made. there is a hard plastic (maybe alloy?) between gasket-like material.

Motordyne is not worth the extra money...

The Blox is the same thing for $200 less. I will attest to the quality of the Blox!

I know there are a dozen or so different recent threads about spacers, but I was wondering, are the angled spacers better/more efficient than the ones that are equal width?

Also, is it really worth adding a lower spacer/upgrading the plenum also? I noticed the 05+ 350Z's came with an updated lower plenum from factory.

I would think that the angled ones are better because the original problem is that the front slopes down, therefore getting less air to the front cylinders as compared to the rear. the equal ones create more air overall, but the angled ones equalize the air distribution over all (if that made sense haha)....at least this is my understanding. I personally just went with a whole new plenum which also fixed the stock problem and is it's bigger in itself, which I paired up with a bored out TB also to allow more air. Just my .02http://www.crawfordz.com/polplenum.htm Plenumhttp://www.crawfordz.com/TB.htm Throttlebody

From the looks of things the Blox would be the way to go as far as spacers are concerned. As long as it's not leaking at all.....a spacer is a spacer IMO. Hell, you could probably lay your stock plenum on a sheet of hardened rubber/plastic....trace around it, cut it out, custom drill your own holes and make one yourself LOL Just do some fine trimming with a razorblade ....now that's the poor mans spacer

I am wanting to order this spacer just a quick question though. Does it come with all the things you need in particular does it come with new studs to put on?

Is it machined, or cast?

You can tell by the finish on it. Machined will have a semi-swirl pattern, and cast will not. This is the one question that I am curious to.

If it is machined, did you check the tolerances from side to side? Is it exactly the same thickness all around?

If it's not, how many thousandths did it vary?

So what's the concensus regarding the plenum cover and the blox spacer?

Is there a way to make it still fit?

I personally think the plenum is ugly

The cover fit after installing the 5/8" BLOX plenum spacer

I modified it slightly.

#1) i took out all 4 metal inserts

#2) I removed the rubber gromets from the 2 holes to the back as that part of the cover will rub on the hood

Works good, feels like its much faster now. Have to speed check more now because i thought I was going 65 and i was going 75.

I like the idea of inexpensive spacer. It's not like the damn thing turns the crank lol.

I read on their website that it's made from a Thermal Polymer. So it's basically a heat resistant plastic.

Once I'm not poor anymore, I'll probably buy one of these. I'm not too thrilled about the idea of the 3/4" one though. I'll probably opt for the 5/8".

Not being able to install a FSTB makes me kind of sad. Especially since my I30 corners better than the G does

That's what makes the aftermarket so competitive. You get a company that develops a product first (Motordyne) then others "copy" the idea and sell it for less. I do feel that the Motordyne spacer is overpriced...maybe now they'll lower it to compete against newcomers now that they aren't exclusive.

Sorry to be beating on the dead horse, but is this mod good for both the auto and 6mt plenums?

I am going to order one later today and thought it might be a good idea to verify this.
