I had and old school HKS BOV that I just replaced with a fake greddy. Now I dont know why but I notice that when I rev the engine there is this squeak coming out of the BOV.I know its from the BOV because when I plug the horn side you can't hear it.So has anybody else experienced this??

Right now I have set up were the screw is almost all the way out because I don't like when I screw it in that the BOV doesn't have the SWISHHH sound to it .Instead it has like a swish, swish, swish sound.Somebody told me that you lose power when you open the bov screw like I have it set up now.

IMHO you tighten the bov till you hear flutter, sounds like what you described....

point of the bov is to vent enough pressure that the compressor doesnt face the "backlash" that hits the throttle blade and returns, causing a flutter or pphhhss ppphhsss pphhhsss as you said.

also is the squeak you hear form the gasket or the two parts of the bov? I was getting an emo squeal a while back, it was an rtv gasket blew out. sounded like the death of a turbocharger in action...

I know if I tighten the BOV it has the flutter, flutter, flutter sound but I dont like the way it sounds that is why i loosened it so you can hear the loud SWOOSH sound which I prefer.I noticed that when i rev it the bov opens and as it closing that is when you hear the squeak.Almost like if it is tight.

So you had a real HKS, and you replaced with a FAKE greddy.... and now you're having problems....... something tells me you should go to something that's real.. like the HKS?
