You can replace everything. I'm assuming you have a factory Bose system.

In that system, the HU has no power and each speaker has an amp "piggy-backed" on it.

I think the speaker size info is in the Car Audio Forum.

I'm sure you've been asked this before: the head unit adapter you used when you did the swap... how new of a Nissan/Infiniti head unit can I use with that?

And was the sound quality better?

Thanks!-Jesda

[hijack]AFAIK, it will work with any of the standard Double DIN Bose units, so that should take you up to 01, maybe some 02's. After that the higher end units went to non-standard stuff in either size, function (nav, tire pressure, etc) or both.

I wouldn't say SQ is any better due to the HU, though by playing CD's (didn't have the changer) you could argue that the SQ is better.

Hey Jesda, how come you've never expressed interest in the pre 94 Sony CD CHnager I have??

I dont use CDs. :)

I do however have a CDRW burner, and if your changer can play burned CDRWs, then you have piqued my interest.

Sorry for the hi jack :)

I've never used it, I have a grill :D, but it's got "burned CD's" in the 2 cartridge's that came with it

John I30 - were you planning on retaining "some" of the factory speakers, cause that wouldn't work.

Well i want to replace all my speakers, even my two tweeters near the windshield....can i just use the existing wires? seeing as though my rear speakers are blown and my driver side speaker is blown, the rest are soon to follow...:( so i want to just replace them all...im going to put some mbquarts in for the mids, and 2 12" solar barics for subs, with a rockford amp. and i have a flip out tv(cheap) that i was to install for the headunit.....can my new head unit (using a adapter of course) be installed just by using the aftermarket adapter, and then use the existing wiring to plug in my mids?

I wonder did the I30 rear speakers have the same free recall replacement as the Q45 rear speakers?

Anyone

John I30, I'm gonna think you'll wanna run new wires from the amp to the speakers, but you can probably use the speaker wires up to the A pillar tweeters. For most people a sound stage of just mids/full range up front and the subs in the back is acceptable.

Fred - The rear speaker recall was for 90's or so, I don't think the recall would apply to a 97??
