I've got a 2007 G Sedan with about 24k miles on it. Over the last few weeks, I've been hearing a lot of rattling out of the back deck when the radio is turned up. Now that I've listened to it for a while, it really sounds like the rear deck sub is blown. It's a possibility that there's just something loose rattling around back there, but it really sounds blown to me.

Has anyone had a blown speaker, and did you get the dealer to replace it?

To me, it seems unlikely, as the factory systems will often have underpowered amplification sufficient to blow a bose subwoofer.

In my experience, I've found that when I put in a 10" sub, I have some rattling that is really annoying, it is the roof vibrating on the back window glass I believe, it may not be the same for the 07s so I could be wrong... there are several members who have reported this problem.

The dealer should fix the rattling...if it's a blown speaker, you're covered under warranty.

The difference I have seen when it comes to factory speakers is the material of the cones will often lead to environmental damage earlier than on aftermarket speakers. For example Infinity speakers in many cars are basically paper which don't like dampness whereas aftermarket are of a material much more resistant to moisture damage. Damage due to sunlight could be a factor as well, especially for something like a rear deck subwoofer.

I would think the factory warranty should cover it (would have to read it however) as long as it is not shown that you somehow contributed to its demise.
