ahhh, if it isnt one thing, its the next. i about went crazy today when i realized that my new set of JIC FLT-A2 coilovers had a blown shock. they have been installed for about 3 weeks to a month, and i noticed a wierd noise coming from them the other night, like something was bottoming out. i took off the tire today (rear passenger side), and noticed a lot of clear oil was covering the coilover and surrounding suspension. i cleaned it all off and let the car sit a few hours, went back and noticed the oil dripping from the lower spring perch. i bought them from heavy throttle, but i emailed JIC first to see what they had to say. i dont think JIC is very popular among you guys but ill let you know what happens for future reference if this should happen to anyone else. with all of the other problems sweeping my car lately i am about ready to sell it and buy an s12.

no, not over large bumps, tho the roads where i live are on average pretty bad. jic got back to me, they told me they are not filled with any oil, i have no idea where that could be coming from. the damper has to be shot, it feels completely different over bumps than the others do.

Check the top mount nut... if it's lose it will make it feel really weird. It likes to come loose after you lower the car.

ill take a look at the top mount again, i checked it, but only a glance to see if anything was broken. it doesnt look like jic is going to be very helpful, they want me to send them just the damper (like i know how to disasemble this thing) and they will let me know how much it will cost me...thanks jic!

after a few email exchanges, they told me to send them the damper, not the whole coilover, and they will tell me if it is still under warranty, or how much it will cost me. until then i guess i have to use stock suspension in the rear. i know this is going to kill my balance for the time being, but this should be ok to drive for a week? i really dont know how to take apart one of these, i asked jic hopefully they will have some type of description.
