Ok so i just got this mofo going again and when i got it, It had a busted head and the tops of the pistons were impacted a lil. I put back on my apexi metal head gasket -did not resurface block or head (yeah i know i'm a bone head) just to see if it was gonna run again. I think i have the timing set right and get 115 psi across all four. ( used same compression tester and checked my buddies redtop sr he had 150 all the way across). So i know i have low compression.

I bought a leak down tester today and all 4 are leaking. I can hear it in the oil dip stick tube on #2 but it gets wierd. I pressurized #4 and you can feel it leak through #2 as well.

So i'm gonna say i need new piston rings all the way across/ Funny thing is that it runs and drives fine and even holds 10psi boost but i do smoke some out the tail pipe.

VERIFIED THAT THE TURBO IS IN GOOD CONDITION. NO OIL LEAKS AT ALL.

so does anyone have rods/pistons to sell me? OEM plz.

Ok wow. Very conflicting info floating around about oem pistons. I find that the 54C pistons will fit my s13 sr20det redtop also what about s14 blacktop rods? Will this setup work? Got a deal on s14 54c pistons and rods with good rings.

I mainly just need the pistons and rings i don't really care about the rods but it would be nice to use them.

there is a shop here in AZ thats selling s13 sr20det rods and pistons for $10 each. pretty darn cheap. where you located? mb you can get them to ship them to you. if you need the number just pm me so i can give you it.

lol got em off ebay with rods and pistons for 50+15 shipping full set with rings on. Also, look around the dallas ft. worth area. Stamped on the side skirt of 54C and on top of 54C. If interested i'll have my old 79E out and will sell them to you. 2 are in good condition the other 2 are not.

hmm, i would just run eagle rods if you are rebuilding anyways since they are pretty cheap. Not as cheap as $65 though haha. What happened to the head?

i just want to keep it stock. get it to hit about 250-300 hp.

I redid the timing due to knowing it was off a tooth after i was attempting to time it a few days ago. Exhaust cam was off one tooth. Since then it's been running way better.

going to redo compression test today and let u guys know what i get. I'm thinking of pulling the motor today and get started on replacing some parts.

Oil feed line is stripped and i am gonna take it to someone to helicoil.FML! it killed my poor lil t25g
