Depends how comfortable you are with tools. Rule of thumb though, If you have to ask then yes.

It can be difficult to turn the car over with no compression. Does it at least crank though?

Replacing the gasket is easy. But why is it blown, and did it overheat and warp the head, or deck?

You really done unless you get the head checked (A machine shop checked to make sure its level, and if not how bad it's warped and will determine if they can resurface the head, if they can they will check the seats by pressure testing, then mill the head if everything is good). Since it's an irion block they tend not to warp as easy, and oyu can clean the deck and check it yourself with feeler gauges and a straight edge.

But there are not certainties. Basically treat it as a "blown engine car" What would you be willing to pay for a car that needs an engine and make an offer from there.
