Ok well im checking out a 1992 300zx NA for my sister. its got 88k miles and is an automatic. It does have bad injectors. he is asking $2800 for it.I test drove the car earlier today for about 30 mins and it drove really well.

Once i brought it back i parked it and started to rev the rpms up at idle to about 4k rpms and held it there for about 10 seconds.

I then noticed white smoke started to form unde the hood.

I open the hood and towards the back of the motor is where the smoke is coming from.

The car is NOT over heating at the time according to the temp gauge.

I did notice some old residue of coolant next to the coolant cap...

I have been told that its not a blown head gasket by a friend who knows the Zs after i described the problem to him over the phone. i cant remember what he thought the problem would be but said something about certain seals needing to be replaced.

The smoke started to go away slowly after i stopped revving it.

Ur feedback would be appreciated thnx

Sounds liek one of the hoses is just old and cracked. I had this problem ma few times. It's easy fix just find out which hose is leaking and then buy a new one which i slike $10 and replace it.

i say pay to have it looked at by a professional and tell them to specifically check out that problem among other things. it would be well worth it IMO.

good luck.
