(i did search)heres the story, a while back my heater core had a hole and leaked out. i noticed when i was on the highway and my temp went up, i pulled over, and then realized my passeneger floor was covered. got a hew heater core put it in. later i guess i had bubbles in the system becuase i didnt bleed it, my temp went up again, and i got a hairline crack in the radiator, so i got a new one., driving it around it kept overheating, the temp would go up(i couldnt feel any heat from the heater) then i would drop within a few seconds, now, ive bleed the system a few times, got a nismo thermostat, it hasent overheaded for a week, but when i drive the temp will move back and forth from laying on the C and then a little higher. but when i turn the car off i can hear bubbles in the coolant tank.

and the clincher, is that when i bleed the system and drained the coolant, there were little drops of oil in it. i wasnet alot, just a bunch of little drops here and there.

is this a blown head gasket?? and if so, how much does a new one cost, and how do it do it??

Check the oil. Is it coffee colored? That's what I usually see with blown headgaskets on the 40's. If not, you might have a warped head or possibly a crack somewhere but the oil in the coolant is a bit different from what I'm used to seeing/hearing about

My diagnosis: Blown head gasket.

To be sure you can lacolize the problem by performing a leak-down test.

How to: Perform a Leak-Down Test

Not really noticiable unless you've got something flat to check it against.

Your problem is not a blown head gasket, I had the same problem, and you will be happy to know it will cost you exactly $0 to fix. It is air in your cooling system. Here is the fix: On the intake manifold there is a bolt that is labeled for cooling system bleeding (it is next to where the upper rad. hose goes in), remove it. Take off the radiator cap. Add coolant, continue until it starts coming out of that hole, when it does, put the bolt back in. Then you put the cap on, maybe inspect it first to make sure it is good, make sure the radiator is full, then commence drifting. That is all your problem is. Also, I found it helps to get on the radiator support and bounce the car to get the bubbles out. Try that, if it doesn't go away, you can slander me all over the internet.
