Blown head gasket on a 94, $300 for car

I was talking to a guy at work yesterday, and he said that he had a 94 240sx, with a blown head gasket that he started fixing, but lost interest. He's already taken it apart, it just needs to be put back together. It also needs a new windshield. The exterior and interior look great. It's a 5speed, and he said other than the head gasket, the car runs great. It has 119,000 miles on it and he only wants $300 for it.

My question is, how much trouble is a blown head gasket? And doesn't a blown head gasket usually indicate neglect?

A blown HG can signify a few things... but a manual vert with a good body for $300?! Just buy it and throw a new engine in!

its not a vert, but I was thinking the same thing.

the only problem is that after paying next semesters tuition, I don't have the money, so it would end up just sitting for a LONG time before I had the money to do it. Oh well... I don't have anything else in my garage right now.

wow... i never realized that. it may be a vert. he just didnt mention it. but most likely, he's not exactly sure what year it is.

And yeah, I'm doing my best to scrounge up the $300 to get it. I think it would make an awesome project car while keeping my s13 as my daily driver.
