Ok so I am new to 240's and have done alot of searching and reading but still no expert.I recently bought a 95 240sx stock ka with a blown head gasket. As dumb as it sounds I bought the car knowing it had a bad gasket. It was love at first site so I bought the car.It would over heat in less than a 1 mile of driving.radiator was bled properly.

To make it long story short, my uncle told me buy everything I need to do the head gasket job and we would do the labor on the weekends. So we get the head gasket done and align the cam sprockets as best as we can from a spec sheet then torqued the head and finished up.I had the head Re surfaced @ a machine shop and I think pressure tested? everything came out Good.I replaced all gaskets But did not have $ for new head studs or bolts. Not knowing If I should wait or not I went to the Nissan dealer and talked with one of the tech's and he said it was not necessary to replace them if they showed no stress cracks.I was on a major Budget so decided to risk it.Could this be the culprit?

Not even a week goes by after the head gasket job and I have a problem.I have been noticing First gear slips almost as if its not grabbing.I can Get it accelerate high rpm in 1st or 2nd but if I am even on a 10 degree incline forget it......Then I notice the throwout bearing is out and rattling gradually getting louder.I know this has nothing to do with a head gasket BUT all of this lead up until Today when My car fell out of gear and red lined for about 2-4 secs and over heated. As I got off the free way the temp was 250!!aftermarket therm. read 250 stock them. read cold.I get home pop the hood and see the coolant resivor tank bubbling ( Hardly at all, nowhere near as bad Before the head gasket repair).

I let the car sit for a few hours and decide to try and see if everything is ok and drive to my friends house less than a mile away.I start the car up and the idle is so low its like I have a 440 under the hood, car was shaking left and right.I get down the street and notice white smoke I stall @ the corner crank it and park.once I leave the same thing but I stalled 3 more times. The white smoke goes away when I put the clutch in or neutral. The car shuts off if I let off the throttle

I want to know what to do From this point.I have diagnosed everything minus the fuel injector o rings. Is there still life in my engine or is she done?

I have searched as much of the internet as I could and have seen results of blown head gaskets but no problems POST head gasket job.any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

thanks

those stock head bolts are a 1 time use man..there cheep and when you reuse them..they stretch beyond there holding capabilitys...never re-use oem bolts..some even here on this forum will tell you its ok..and now you have found out why...with that lesson'd learned..i recomend doing a new headgasket install..this time..buy some arp head studs..they provide extreem clamping force for the head gasket and a high tenstile stregth to withstand punishment'...allso..make shure you have the rite balance of coolant to water..or you will have a premature builing point in your cooling system...good luck

Damn Kinda what I was not hoping for.Would changing the coolant really help any? also if the car doesn't over heat could a HG be ruled out?I am kinda over this KA and would like to buy another one with good compression across or Get this rebuilt ka-T off a buddy of mine.I have money for the engine But I don't have 100's of dollars to invest each week on maintenance. Forced induction is no simple thing, but does a low maintenance turbo(low psi) Daily driver exist?I want a turbo engine But do not want to bite off more than I can chew $ wise(upkeep and parts going out).As for now more reading and lurking for me ......any advice helps thanks
