Hey guys,

I tried to install my HIDs from ddm tuning yesterday.

So here is the process:

I took off the bumper, worked on my left headlight first.

I plugged in the HID Apexcone btw 11H 6000K along with the ballast and the rest all connected. The left headlight worked after a few re-connecting the ddm and factory connectors.

After it worked, I began to work on my right headlight, but with countless times of re-connecting, I could not get it to work at all.

So I thought it was the shortage of power to start up the HID, so I did the whole relay harness thing and now both lights don't work.

I then took off the relay harness and tried on the HIDs just by themselve, now both headlights do not work...not even the left...

So I was out there in the sun for a long a** time and still couldn't figure out what happened... I finally gave up and put back my OEM bulbs...

Unfortunately, the right one worked but the left one didn't... I switched the bulbs around and figured that something is wrong with the left side...(by this time, I was already out in the sun for 4 hrs and had a sunburn)

I took it in to Nissan this morning and they said it was a blown fuse... (under warranty so thank God).

Now I got HIDs that don't work anymore... (I think the ballasts or the bulbs are blown out?...) How do you tell?

I looked closely to the HID bulbs and the wire in the sphere looking thing within the bulb is disconnected and on the bottom of the sphere, there are some residue... I think that's an indication of a burnt out bulb?

Do you guys have any idea of what could've gone wrong in the process?

And finally, you think ddm would be able to ship me some new ones?...it's lifetime warranty right?

I know this is a long post, as I've gone through a lot with the process. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

sounds weird for the light bulb not being connected onto the bottom of the sphere. it seems it might of got damaged somehow before installation. but anyways, the way i could tell if your light bulb is burnt out is if turns on but shines in a yellow color or if it looks a bit foggy from the inside. if its the ballast that does not work, then no hid light bulb will not turn on

Yea, it looked like condensation/foggy on the inside of the spheres. Also had little yellow residue.

Is it possible for me to get a new pair for free from DDM? lifetime warranty?

Also, you disconnected the battery before installing these right? :)

Yea. Although I think my friend who helped me out forgot to a couple times...

Would that really make a big difference??

Well you're connecting and disconnecting electrical components. Typically you should disconnect the battery to prevent surges in power/sparks/etc while hooking stuff like this up.
