I've recently discovered that my exhaust sounds different. Its stock piping with and AEM with a welded-on muffler. It used to sound clean....now it sounds like it has a cold!. So I rev from 1000 to 2500 rpm, and when i let off the gas, it makes a low buzzing sound when the exhaust breaths in again. When i rev it higher than 3000 rpms, it distorts. I have an Injen short ram intake system, do i need an exhaust to match?

stock piping with any kind of muffler, welded on or not will always sound like a pissed off bumblebee in a coffee can, pretty much ditch your set-up and save up for a full cat-back, its your only hope

I bet its leaking around the converer and or AIV valve connector in the downpipe, get a header and catback.....problem solved and it will sound way better.
