The rear defogger/defroster switch on my '95 240SX doesn't light up anymore. The switch still does its function, it annoys me that I can't see if the defogger/defroster is working. So I took the switch apart and inside, there are two tiny bulbs (no, they are not LED-type). The two bulbs are slightly different, one has a blue rubber dome so it emits a white light (lit when the parking light switch is turned on) and the other is bare (to indicate whether the defroster is on/off).

I called a Nissan dealer or two and none could tell me that there is replacement bulbs for these, the switch costs $28.

I'm wondering if anyone has done this kind of repair previously, I'm about to go to Radio Shack and see if they have anything for me. Anyone ?

I like it when a problem can be solved so easily.

$1.49 for a pack of two.

No blue dome, but if you are careful enough, you can salvage the old one.

To put the switch back together, make sure it is in the pressed position, watch out for small parts too.

BTW, the hazard switch uses the same bulb. I've become an expert in this matter

I can change them out pretty quickly now, about 10 minutes or so per switch
