2006 M45, rear ended someone. No damage to their vehicle but mine (hit on right side near headlamp assembly. Headlight (low beam) worked for a few weeks, then blew. I bought two new bulbs, installed both of them, and as soon as I turn on the lights, it blows the lamp. It's an OEM Phillips lamp. What else could be wrong? Ballast? Is there a diagnostic I can do at home?

Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like you have a wiring that's grounding out to a ground or another power wire in the headlight harness. Or the ballast itself has a short in it itself

Probably a shorted ballast. Check your wiring first for cuts.

The ballast hard to replace? Verified with dealer it's blown but they want $1000 to fix it, 1500 to replace the entire assembly which include bulb and balast.....

no the bumpers really easy to come off. all the bolts on the bottome, remove bothe fender inside liners and theres bolts under that bolted to the bumper and fender then just pull the bumper away.
