Hello all, I hope someone can help me out. I am the owner of a 2004 Infiniti I-35 and have had no problems out of it until now. All of a sudden the wipers started operating without me utilizing the activation switch. After a short period of time, they stayed on all of the time..then..all at once..Poof..the wipers quit working and the A/C blower fan quit working. I discovered 2 X 15 amp fuses for the A/C blower were blown and 1 X 20 amp fuse for the Wiper Motor was blown. I replaced all fuses and tried again..the wiper fuse blew first..and then the A/C blower fuses went about a minute later. I think the problem might be the wiper relay but I cannot find it. Any help in resolving this problem will be greatly appreciated. Also, any individual who can help me through this issue, I will gladly pay them for their services (paypal if possible..but if not I will pay by other means). I need to get my car back up and running smooth by Monday.

Thanks!

Welcome to NICO Chip! If you don't have your FSM (factory service manual) I would download it at http://www.phatg20.net

You will need to do a google search for the free software to decompress the .rar file. Then you'll have a full .pdf version. I would suspect a problem with one of the control units, but I don't know much about the I35, so that's kind of a wild guess.

If the fuses burn out pretty quickly, I would start unplugging components (e.g. wiper motor) and see if you can isolate the issue that way.

Do you have any aftermarket accessories installed on your car, especially that have been modified recently? Those are always a good place to look...

Good luck!

Thank you for the quick reply Heath! I have downloaded the manual and the .rar opening program.

No aftermarket accessories on the car. All OEM standard equipment. I'll do some troubleshooting today and report back.

Again..THANKS!!

hahahaha! I found the problem. A while back I had an incident with a curb and the blown tire removed the right front plastic fender protector. the straps holding the wiring down broke and the wire had been rubbing against the tire causing the wires to be exposed...that is why the car went nuts lol. I have since fixed the problem and all is working well... I did learn alot about the I-35 wiring schematics though in the process of troubleshooting this issue. THANKS!!
