Hey I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on why this would happen. During high throttle my dipstick will pop out and shoot oil all over my engine bay. It's a '91 coupe with a redtop sr, Mines "boost up" ECU, tubular manifold, fmic, divided dump, 3" downpipe, 3" full exhaust, 255lph walbro, SSQV bov, and i'm running an oil catch can system being recirculated to the intake. Car runs pretty good, spools up fine and pulls hard. But, everytime I get on it pretty good, take it to 7k or so, this sh** happens. Compression is good across the board too. I'm kind of baffled. So if someone has a clue, post it up... I'm stumped.

How's your valve cover vent? That's there to allow crankcase ventilation, and it sounds like yours is blocked, plugged or non-functional.

I'm assuming its fine. It T's one side going back to where the original oil catch was before it was removed for the tubular manifold and the other goes to the oil catch can, and from the can to my intake pipe. There is oil residue in the hose that is going to the can, its clear so I can see it. You think maybe I should bypass the can and take it straight to the intake?

how bout your PCV on the back left of the valvecover (not the tee on the right), see if its operating correctly. Also if you have over 4 qts of oil in the motor there is a chance it will do that, ive seen it happen.

Could be bad ring sealing / broken ring lands (usually from detonation) pressurizing the crankcase. Compression test / leakdown test will tell you if thats it.

yes compression test is a way to tell if you have a problem....boosted motors also always have a bit of blow by past the rings and there is nothing that can stop that, check to make sure the positive crankcase ventilation valve isnt clogged(clean with a solvent and make sure the checkball/spring too isnt stuck).....also check to make sure the dip stick seal isnt loose and worn(if so buy a new seal,or put a little eletrical tape around it to make sure it is tight in the dip stick tube,or crimp the dip stick tube a little with a pair of channel lock pliers right where the dip stick seal is at to make it tight in the dipstick tube)

Are you sure its a RWD SR20 dipstick??Cause i know if you try to use the FWD SR20 dipstick it looks like it fits perfect but it will blow out at Full throttle.

I'm not sure if it is the correct dipstick, it is just what came with the swap. It isn't really a big deal anymore considering I have bigger problems right now. Today I was test fitting a custom intake that I was welding up and a piece of silicone cupler got into my intake. I put it back on and went to go somewhere and sucked it into the turbo and broke 2 fins. Thank god it didn't get sucked into the motor or anything, but that makes the dipstick problem a little obsolete right now. Thanks for everyone's replies, I appreciate it.

i would say you have a problem there...might i suggest consulting a doctor....1 in 5 people have problems with premature dipstick...
