Automatic transmission, '96 Maxima SE.

If I'm parked on level ground, I can start the car and shift into drive or reverse and everything is just fine.

If I pull up to my destination, slow down and prepare to park the vehicle, if I throw it directly into park, it blows.

If I pull up to park and stop in neutral, the rpm's adjust and then I can put it into park, no problem.

Also, if I'm parked on an incline, it clunks a little to shift out of park and most times I'll blow the fuse.

The problem seems to be between reverse and park. My mechanic is baffled. Anybody have a guess??????

Also, what's the easiest way to remove the OEM hood struts. Those things suck!!!!!

Thanks in advance, Gunny

It could possibly be a short somewhere in the wiring for the park/neutral position switch, but it seems odd that it would take out dash fuse. Do you have any aftermarket electronics installed?
