Anybody ever thought about a Roots-type blower on their Q? I thought to myself, "Self, people have done the whole turbo thing. How do I get forced-induction on my Q in a way no one has done yet?" I was thinking about how cool it would be to pop my hood and BAM - there's a big 'ol blower on the motor!

Thoughts? Opinions?

GO!

Oh yeah! No turbo spool-up lag or intercooler necessary...

This has pictures of a not as nice one I was thinking of:

There was a picture of a car that was the first that I can think of. I believe Wes was working with somebody to make a kit but I think it fell through, or there weren't enough people actually going to buy it.

Rex, the original board founder did supercharge his G50 for awhile. Fred had it then Wes has it now.

The ECU really isn't sophisticated enough to support more than 6 lbs of boost, if that.

I do not have the boosted Q, that was a 92 Q and Rex still has it.

The ECU is DEFINITELY capable of handling any sort of boost. The old nissan ECU are of the most robust and easy to program ECU out there.. Its as good if not better in many ways than a standalone ECU. That particular car was just not setup properly.

I'd still go twin turbo over superchargers..

Also.. If anyone is feeling like they need more power, get that slushbox out of there and put a 5 speed in it.. Without that manual trans you will never realize how great the engine that comes stock in the Q really is..

That's right, it was an early G50, but I thought it had been passed on? Yours had the NOx set up?

But you were pioneering the Supercharger set up a looong time ago with that guy in Florida.
