I have an 04 LE Path. I have noticed a noise when I turn on the heater. Sounds like the blower motor, perhaps. I don't hear the noise when using the A/C however? HELP!!!!! it's irritating.

The only thing different when running heat vs A/C is that coolant is flowing though the heater core.

If there is noise that sounds like gurgling, or other water type sounds you have air in your coolant system.

What does your noise sound like?

It's kind of hard to describe, but to me sounds like somewhat of a mechanical noise. If by chance it is air in my coolant would a complete coolant dump and refill solve it?

To be honest, you might be more likely to add air to the system on a complete dump / refill. If it was whoosing / gurgling sounds then yes follow the manual for air removal. Else you most likely have somehting else going on.

Rattleing and tapping and scraping sounds usually come from blowers, The sounds would change with fan speed.

Cycle the vents / recirc buttons to evey postion and see if the sound changes. If it stays going till you press the A/C button then your likely not hearing a enviroment control sound but something else.

Thanks, I did a quick check yesterday and when I increase the fan speed it seems to go away. It only make that sound when I have it set to the lowest fan speed. Perhaps it's the fan voltage regulator??

we have the same or similar noise on our '04 SE. At fan speed 1 or 2, there is a slight mechanical noise, but at higher fan speeds (3 or 4) the noise goes away as well as when the system is turned off.

It could be the bearings/bushings on the blower fan or other part related to the fan spinning.

I've noticed on ours, it mainly happens when it is super cold out (< 30*F).
