Blower Motor Resistor Failure at 13 Months - $600+ Repair

Ya....

None to happy at the moment. My fan quit working. It did this once or twice before but only for like 20 minutes. Well this time it stopped for good. Didn't matter if I tried heat or AC. Nothing came out of the vents.

So they said it was a "Blower Motor Resistor" failure.



$625 for diagnostics and repair on a vehicle that is barely a year old. I am sorry, but I really do NOT expect to be paying several hundred dollars in repairs on a brand new car. (And yes, of course, I am just out of warranty.)

I've called Nissan USA and opened a case with their Consumers Affairs department. Hoping Nissan USA will cover it still. But if not.....I will never ever buy another Nissan again.

This is ridiculous....

OK, if you purchased the car new, then it's under full warranty. Every Nissan is backed by a 36-month/36,000-mile limited vehicle coverage and a 5-year/60,000-mile limited powertrain coverage. Unless you've already managed to exceed the 36,000-mile limit, then it sounds like you've been taken.

BASIC COVERAGE

• The basic coverage period is 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
• This warranty covers any repairs needed to correct defects in materials or workmanship of all parts and components of each new Nissan vehicle supplied by Nissan subject to the exclusions listed under the heading “WHAT IS NOT COVERED” or, if the part is covered by one of the separate coverage's described in the following sections of this warranty, that specific coverage applies instead of the basic coverage.

Warranty is based on time or mileage. Maybe he's over the mileage.

Blower Motor Resistor??? As far as I know Rogue SV doesn't even have one. No mention of one in the service or parts manuals. They are usually only used on cars with a manual blower speed switch and $600+ would be outrageous for replacing one.
