I recently purchased a 2001 Xterra and have a few problems. My ac/heat blower will work only when it is turned all the way up. If I attempt to take the setting down from anything other than max it shuts off. I have asked around and most have no idea other than perhaps a blower motor relay? Any idea how this is replaced. Also I have a prob with the temp. on the rear view mirror. It constantly reads 140*F, can this be fixed or just replaced?

Thanks for any help.

The resistor is bad on the blower motor - common problem, and about a $30 fix from your local nissan dealer for the part.

You'll find it down around the kick panel on the passenger side. Unbolt, unplug, and reverse for the install.

I did suspect that the resistor would be the most lilkely culprit...but the file I sent out is small enough I figured he might as well have it in the event the resistor wasn't at fault.
