Blower Motor/Fan...easier fix?

Hi all. I've got a 2010 Rogue with 80k miles. A few months back the blower motor started making a whine, as if the bearings are going bad. It's worse at slower speeds. Sounds just like a window fan I had recently. I WD-40'd that. Don't think I can this one.

I have read all over and the part is just $115. But to get to it is a nightmare. Dash, gauge cluster, steering wheel, gas/brake pedals....is there any easier way? Straight down behind the radio maybe? Surely.
