Hi, need advise on my blower motor that doesn't come on at all but the motor is good( I bought a new motor and after it still wouldn't work I took it back out and put 12v across the prongs and it works fine) I have power at the motor but when I checked for power at the motor receptacle with a meter I get power on both prongs.I understand that if the resistor is out it will still work on high because it bypasses the resistor ,haven't checked the fuses yet because I have power at the motor. The only thing I can think is the ground to the motor of which I have no idea where it would be.
Does anyone have a suggestion? sure could use one about this time, thanks

In 12VDC systems, the ground is the leg that has the switch. Just FYI.

I would check the motor control switch.

Welcome to NICO! I suggest you start with replacing the resistor. If the resistor is broken it could cause it to not work at all.

I actually sold one a while back and it fixed the customers problem so thats where I suggest you start.

Good luck. :bigthumb:

Thanks for your help, is there a way to bypass the resistor to save a little money or maybe check the ohms ?

You could easily bypass the resistor if you knew what you were doing, but all you would get is just the highest setting. That's kinda useless. Also, if you say that the highest setting is not working right now at all, then it's most likely not the resistor and is the motor switch on the dash.

I have already order an a/c control unit , but tomorrow I will take the resistor out since I have already got the glove compartment out and
give it a good visual .
Thank you for your help I really do appreciate it

I have found the junction box for the relays but the box has three motors listed but don't tell which motor they are for.

Hi, Just a follow up ,the ZMan hit it on the head it was the resistor ,got it fixed today after a lot of frustration and almost $200.00 later. the only thing I ordered that I didn't need was the control unit inside the car so if you know someone that needs one I will sell it half price.
Again thanks so much for your help and kindness.

Bypassing the resistor actually goes to HIGHER than full speed. Or, at least, that's what happened when my Q's went bad. It was nonsense high speed. Hurricane setting. Way higher than max speed via the climate control. Obnoxiously loud. And the rest of the car was already noisy as Hell, so the fact that it was noticeable is quite a feat.

I've been told the motor gets its ground from the resistor,I think that was the problem, the resistor did fix the motor
