I have been considering this for a while. I am bored and looking for yet another little project (and putting off the rear ball joints yet again...). Thoughts? See picture for my idea on location. It is about the same distance from the TB as on the KA, and since I am using a KA24E MAF, if it blows out I can get another with relative ease.

Do it and make a write up! My only concern with a blow through setup is if you're getting oil in the intake stream via the PCV system or failing oil seals, it might gum up the MAFS.

Gm's suffer from that with K&N filters... FYI

I don't have my PCV properly plumbed into the intake, but I plan to get another catch can and do it again (I used to have one then needed the room for my oil cooler/filter reloaction setup). And my seals are a-ok as of now.

correct me if im wrong, but this setup would allow for a vented BOV right?

yes so long as the MAF is after the BOV. His BOV is on the hotpipe and MAF will be on the cold pipe.

ive seen it done on a couple of different websites, its possible, the only thing is your going to need something alil bit better then the KAe maf, if you put the MAF after the turbo your getting more airflow, and your going to need an SAFC to tune it around

DSM guys do this and they find if their using DSM link, that its alittle harder to tune with a blo-through, but it can be done fairly easily.

Just get a metal MAF adaptor a Z32 maf, and an SAFC and youll be set.

I disagree, you will still get reversion with the setup as illustrated, infact i think it will overfuel worse than with a conventional MAF setup and a BOV on the cold side, it MAY work if you have the MAF right infront of the throttle body

Not so.

I run a blow through setup on my RB car with a gt3076r and a hks ssqv mounted on the hot pipe with the MAF located just after the fmic. Drivability is flawless, absolutely 0 evidence of overfueling during shifts or any other time for that matter.

My issue is tuning. I really do not like magic boxes. I want to avoid having to get an EPROM emulator, but I have been considering it for over a year anyway, so this might just "force" me to get it.

Dont bother with an emulator unless you plan to tune more than one car. Get Nistune, and save the hastle of having to calculate load points. I'm getting annoyed at the lack of a live trace with the emulator

i bow to your real life experience then. Its never going to be an issue for me, I will never run an atmospheric dump valve, or probably any dump valve of any sort
