Blow Off valve w/ Top hat mounts

What kinda blow off valve is everyone running?I have a RB20DET in a s13 that im putting in and my friend said that he'll sell me his old HKS bov for $50 but i dont know if its gonna clear the hood cause the stock bov mounts vertically

does the stock blow off valve come near the hood with the top hat mounts??

I'm pretty sure aftermarket BOVs don't mount in the same location as the stock one. In all the pictures I've seen of RB20s, the aftermarket BOV is mounted on the same pipe, upstream of the stock BOV (closer to the intercooler).

so what do you do when you change the bov, you need a new pipe with a flange and you also need a stock BOV block off plate too???

If it's a HKS SSQV, the base is round, and will rotate in the flange...

does anyone have pics of there bov in the carI just bought this HKS bov and im definetly gonna have to make a stock BOV block off plate and also weld a flange onto one of my IC pipes

I was running the HKS SS BOV, but figured out that it made the car run really rich, so I took it off. Some BOV will work on the RB's and make it run decent and then other times it will not like it did in my case. I have a buddy club MAF controller that I will be putting on then goes back on the HKS BOV.

the reason it didn't work is probably because you were blowing off to atmosphere in stead of recirculating

Does anyone know what a pop off valve is??Cause i have the HKS racing valve and it says that it can be used as a pop off valve also
