Blow Off Valve

I know what these do, I was just wondering if someone could tell me, if they give you extra HP, or are they basically an ornament, to show off the fact theres a turbo under the bonnet???

does a BOV give you any more HP then when its not there?? or is it a noist maker?

You will not gain any HP from a BOV. If you know what a BOV does, then you should already know this but a BOV releases air trapped in the intercooler piping when the throttle body is closed. Without a BOV, the trapped air would come back through your turbo, otherwise known as compressor surge, and that's not a good thing.

i mean, u can buy a gazoo and put it near ur intake if ya want.

i have the a'pexi Twin chamber...its a nice piece. honestly, there are a million threads on BOV's...so try them out.

It goes off if there's too much pressure etc, so your engine and such doesn't get damaged
