This guy that I date has an Evo with a manual transmission and it has a blow off valve. I'm absolutely in love with the sound it makes when he shifts gears. It goes a little something like this VROOM PSSSSSH for those of you who have not heard one. Anyway, my coupe is automatic with a CVT ofcourse and i was wondering if i can get a blow off valve as well. My concern is that bc there is no "shifting" of gears but rather a smooth transition it wont have the same affect on my car thus delievering the same sound? HELP

Welcome!

Hope you don't get flamed too hard after my post

Blow off valves are you used on Turbo applications. Your vehicle has no use for this part currently.

Lol, i too hope you don't get flamed.

You need a turbocharger in your car, one of the cars at the SEMA show had one, although it was for the 3.5 6spd. Turbochargers will run you around 5-6k, thats alot for the sound..

Of course u can always buy the tsunami it runs for 100$, comes with speakers that you put outside your car AND a button indash so you can push and get the psshhhh sound! It also does that when u change gears.. word.

yea its defiantly gonna be tacky. If you have any kinda of good taste you wont get a speaker induced BOV sound.

BOV sound on an Altima Sorry.

Just add that little muffler device that Tyler linked up. It's probably gonna sound cheesy, and you're probably gonna get weird looks coming your way. Just giving you a heads up on that one

I don't see how that thing could make the BOV sound, BOV is from build of up boost pressure (which we all know), but that muffler insert is relieving any pressure. If anything, i think that might effectively create the turbo whine/whistle.

Yeah, read his feedback and you'll see what others had to say about that so-called "BOV sound"
