Whats going on. Im new to this forum. Anyway, I have a sr20det redtop in my ae86. The blowoff valve that I have been using since I got this car has been a greddy type-s. The type-s for some reason constantly stays open which means that the spring is probably no good, right ? I can feel air coming out all of the time and it is always whistling when I am stopped. When I am driving normally it does not whistle. So I then decided to buy a Greddy type-rs valve since they do not make a rebuild kit for the type-s anymore. But when I install the type-rs valve my car shuts off all of the time. It only runs well with the leaking blowoff valve. Does anyone know why this could be happening ? I appreciate any info you can give. thanks

invest into a recirculating kit for those bovs and also disassemble the components and clean them then use anti sieze to coat the piston. Should stick alot less.

I'd say just get the HKS SSQV.. It seems every person I see with a boosted Nissan and a Greddy BOV has to fight with it.

O, yes. And there are a LOT of people running them atmospheric without issues... (Maybe a tap of the throttle during decel, but that's minimal.)
