the proper names are:

V-SPLR-SPL

if i recall correctly the R is the thicker racing version, the V is lower HP (like 350 max or something) and made for street purposes (more low speed stuff where airflow is more important)

I don't think it has anything to do with horsepower. Probably has more to do with charge pressure.

dude obviously a larger core is gonna be able to handle more power...the R has a larger intercooler then the V

http://www.blowoffvalves.com (all the sound files on many bov's) Greddy Type-S is sooooo hot! When I got hooked on the 240 w/ the SR swap I rode in my friend's swapped 240 and it had a Type S....one of the hottest sounding bov's I think.

not a fan of the type s, f&f killed it for me. my old school blitz ss (not the dual drive) sounds pretty nice imo.

i'm a hks freak, but the hks ssq bov doesn't sounds good to me. so as an alternative choice i end up running a arc bov. yes it's true that this bad boy is not loud. but i love it, it also make a nice type of pssssh sound. more than likely, i will end running another arc bov on my FC.

I've never heard a ARC bov yet. Does it sound similar to any other bovs?

ARC (Abbey Road Company) is one of the most well respected japanese company that make performance parts. and their product are freaking awesome. since i don't hear much bov, i really can't compare it to any other one.

I agree. The bov horsepower rating is probably just an indication of the approximate amount of boost used to create the rated horsepower. Maybe used in their marketing strategy to "simplify" things to the less technical crowd?

they sound really cool either way
