I dented oil pan is still not a good thing, but definitely would not cause blow by.

I remember when an Autozone guy tried to sell me the wrong plugs for my RX-7. The 13b's use 2 different heat ranges, and won't run right if you put the same heat range in. He said "but thats what the system calls for", so I called him an idiot and walked out.

I hate that place...

Haha, thats a little bit harsh aint it?Autozone workers are ignorant, what you needed to do was get a soap box and educate him and anyone within the immediate area.

i actually take offense to all your stupid asses with ur dumb comments about autozone.. i worked there am i stupid.. the screwing system says so thats all we have to go buy unless we get a catalog that tells us differently..u remind me of the dumb asses comming in saying i need a starter for a 350, which make model?, any 350 there all the same!.

its not like were trained in all your dumb *** cars in and out and know that **** most employees are not the most car literate and rely on the computer to do most the work. were not fixing cars were selling parts. if ur so smart why didnt u simply bring in the part number for the plgs u needed.. i mean come on..

u cant rely on someone else in this world. were dyi do it yourself u come to us for what u need were not ment to tell u what u need!... it that simple.

now i have no beef with anyone here but these comments irratate me cause u have to look at it from the employee point of veiw. they deal with thousands of parts and cars they cant have every ounce of imformation available, but they try to do the best they can what more can u ask.. a smart person would of informed the employee that they take different plugs and went got the part numbers and came back thus working with the employee to resolve your automotive needs... /end rant.

and now i will say i just got let go from autozone so screw autozone !!!

I take offense with my Autozone employees down here because they treat me like crap. and are generally incredibly unhelpful.

Bradt, which Autozone in Huntsville? The guys in the AZ on south parkway are generally nice and helpful. Definitely more knowledgeable than some of the idiots that shop there. They should be quite on the ball as far as 240sx and CA18 parts go, because I keep them in check. They know me by first name and they know what kind of car I drive and everything. Just don't let them make decisions for you.

zero_grip, you're right, if I worked there and someone came in asking for advice on something for an '87 Buick century I would be totally clueless. Can't get too mad at them for not being intimate with the particular car I drive. You can't tell me though, that you didn't work with some totally unqualified people. They have those at every type of business on the planet.

I was in the one in HSV the other day and some idiot was getting spark plugs for his truck. He kept looking at all the brands (like it really mattered for his application) and finally picked one. The lady helping him asked how many he wanted and he said "three." Three? Really? Who buys three spark plugs? Its not like they cost anything. I went outside and he pops the hood on a Chevy suburban. 8 cylinders. Yeah, lets replace three instead of all of them. Great maintenance job.

First off, no need for the harsh language.

Secondly, I did bring in the NGK part number, but he insisted on going by the system. THIS is why I called him an idiot. I asked him if he knew about rotaries and he said no. Therefore, I requested the SPECIFIC plugs, and still only brought me what the system said.

Nowhere did I say that ALL AZ employees are idiots. Yes, we are all fairly knowledgeable and don't expect them to know every detail, but a dented oil pan "causing blow by"? If he didnt know he should simply say so. Thats all.

Tim: It was the AZ on North Parkway. Southside has been good. Madison one on Hughes is good about CA18 stuff (I have gotten a lot from them).

sorry but when I ask WHERE something is....... not WHAT something is and get the WTF look I get frustrated.

I had a girl look at me like I was retarded when I asked for RTV.

Ive had people tell me things are Impossible...... like killing optima batteries(which btw my bf can kill in less 15 months and alot of the audio junkies I know get about 13 out of a redtop), making my own IC, using parts from other cars for my car, or if they sold windsheild glass sealant.

its ok, I went to pep boys to pick up some vac lines and wanted to pick up an 11MM ratching box end wrench and maybe get an extra set of ratching box ends because we use them a bunch. The lady at the counter told me they didnt stock any metric wrenchs at the present time

Not to take this thread in a completely different direction, but let me just take this thread in a completely different direction;

Optima batteries are so easy to kill. I managed to kill TWO yellow tops in one afternoon trying to start this Jeep TJ at my house. Gone. Brand new, and they never held a charge again.

Oh it's super easy to kill an Optima......While welding???I'll list how to in these easy steps:

First find a flat head screw driverSecond locate the positive and negative battery terminalsThird lay the flat head screw driver with one end touching the positive terminal and the other end touching the negative terminal(note must do this fast) And lastly step away from the vehicle. Or run which ever you like

I call this one the insta Arc battery death (should be attempted by all ignorant auto parts employee's:)

I feel the pain. I tried finding a new exhaust cam for my 86 RX-7. They checked their system through and through and couldn't find em. Same with rods. oh well, guess I will just have to stick with these rotor things

On a side note, I know a guy with an LS1 RX-7 and when he went to a store to ask about cams, the dude at the store said "but you do realize your car doesnt have cams." I laughed really hard. He asked why and I told him he must be the first employee I encountered that knew what a rotary engine was.

Thats cool that he knew a little bit. This guy once thought my car had a rotary in it.

HAHAHA! That would be very true.....

My RX-7 was my DD for a while, until it had overheating problems and then decided that 3rd, 4th, 5th, and reverse weren't needed...
