ok so my engine smokes like crazy, burning lots of oil.. i thought it was my ****ty stock ca turbine so i just swapped it out for an sr turbine.

Now with the sr turbine it smoked even more, like lots and lots of burning oil pouring out of exhuast.

so i put in a make shift catch can (2 hoses and a pop bottle) and that solved a lot of the problem.

It now only smokes when say coming to a stop sign or red light and it idles, It DOESNT SMOKE after i beat the **** out of it, went did some doughnuts and stuff and it didnt smoke at idle, went did some 180km highway runs and it didnt smoke after.

i let the car sit started her up didnt smoke, drove 1.4mile down the road not boosting at all.. stopped at a stop sign and smoke pours out...

so its an inconsistent patter leading me to believe that its NOT my rings.

ill have a proper catch can early next week..

insight anyone?

i also checked my pcv valve and it works fine. im also getting pretty bad gas mileage it seems (drove probably 60km and used $10 in gas) if that has anything to do with it.

have you done a compression test? do that, and a leakdown test, that will tell us a little more. also what is the color of the smoke? do you have to keep adding oil? what does your coolant look like?

i havnt had time to do a compression test or leakdown yet, smoke is blue, no oil in the coolant, i did an oil change 2 days ago, but it has not gone down at all.. but i have only driven for say 150km on the new oil
