just got done replacing my exhaust hangers - the rubber ones. bought universal "fit alls" and they're just enough shorter and thicker to make the job a pain when lying under the car. i've also had to replace my belt - because i had a few loose bolts around it that cut grooves in. with the belt i also decided to replace the idler pulley as the bearing was shot and was making noise. the belt was $24.99!!! and pulley...pulled one out from a '99 max at a junkyard for $15

anyways, the job cost me a lot of skin and nerves. found out i had a bunch of loose bolts on the crank side of eng so i tightened those up. anyone know where the cover for the left timing chain tensioner is? i'm missing a bolt there, fortunately no leaks. the right cover (both black) was leaking so retightened those bolts. and now for the grand finale...the tensioner pulley and bracket.

to pull those out you need to take the belt off and i went and disassembled the whole thing...didn't know that one shim/washer inside needs to be facing a certain direction - found out when the pulley seized up. but it's all gravy, for now, baby.

next i have some valve cover gaskets to do and maybe an injector...or two.

almost forgot...whoever worked on the max before i had it was an idiot...the top bolt on the tensioner bracket goes in to a small flange on the side of the block. they f'd up and broke the flange off and jb welded it back together. fortunately there's enough left for a longer bolt to reach.

thx for reading

sounds like my kinda day! ha ha..for the injectors though..Im pretty sure some of mine are making a noise and one day I decides to pull them out but when i took the little metal cover off and pull one out it wouldnt budge! I didnt want to break it so i just left it. are they supposes to be that jammed in there or is there a step im missing?

i don't know what cover you're talking about. mine have a wire clip on top and then it's just a straight up injector. i read a write up somewhere and whoever pulled theirs out had a hard time and busted the tops on the up. they go in hard too. i'm thinking maybe i'll just get all new from jwt rated for more flow because i want to sc my max in the future and don't want to pay twice for injectors - spendy little things.
