Block Heater or Circulating Heater

My 2003 Pathfinder needs a block heater but I understand you have to lower or remove the differential to install it. Has anyone installed anything else to keep the block warm and if so what was it? Have looked at circulating heaters but the model I saw (Kat) does not seem to last too long... any help is appreciated!!!! :) :gotme
