I'm getting ready to install a custom top mount with a big 16g. I'm getting ready to start gathering misc. parts for the install. One thing I will need to get is a S/S oil feed line. I'm sure it will have to be a custom job due to the dsm turbo...but what size fitting will I need for the block side? I have the stock block adaptor....do I need to leave this in, or remove it, and have my s/s line screw into the block itself?

Just leave it in there but point it to 12 o'clock position for top mount turbo instead of 3 for bottom mount.

Bring that fitting with you to an OMNI or the like and have them make what you need.

Hope that helps.'

What is OMNI? I was thinking about trying a local "hydraulic & hose" shop....Is there any place online that sells the fittings I need, that I can just piece together?Or better yet, what is the thread size that would screw into the block adaptor? Is it a British thread like the sohc CA?

yea omni is a hoses and hydraulic fittings shop in the NE area I think, could be nation-wide?

I suggested keeping the block adapter for a reason, I do not know the thread type of the block at that juncture no, sorry.

The stock block adaptor is a factory restrictor, be careful restricting oil flow to a much larger bush bearing turbo...

FWIW - The thread on the block side of the restrictor is m12x1 male inverted flare, on the turbo line 7/16-24 male inverterted flare..

So should I not use the block adaptor/ restrictor with the 16g? Isn't too much oil bad too?

I am currently running with no oil restrictor on my TD05-14b. All is well.

The block-side fitting (small male end of the oil adapter) is a 1/8" BSP. I'm running a male 1/8" BSP to JIC adapter fitting to 90* JIC.

Just go to your local hyrdraulics place and tell them what you need at both ends, and how long, they'll be able to figure out the rest.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, the turbo-side fitting on those mitsus is 10mmx1.25mm

Hey Buddyworm........I'm gonna go ahead and re-use the 90 degree stock block restrictor/ adapter. You indicated you used a JIC adaptor...what size is this?

Basically I need to know what size the female end of the block adapter is that the oil feed line will screw into. Thanks

Yeah, bu the JIC adapter was for the 1/8" BSP that went from the line to the block.

If you're reusing the stock 90+Restrictor then, if I remember correctly, it's threaded for 12mm x 1mm female Inverted flare. But I believe it's acceptable to just get a regular male adapter fitting and thread it into the 90*. Maybe be liberal with the teflon tape though...
