2 months ago I bought a set of Blizzak WS-60's and since then I've had several opportunities to test them in snow. These tires are awesome.

When I was buying my G, I was afraid that it would be terrible to drive in the winter because it's RWD, and I would need a 2nd car. I use to own a 200sx SE-R (FWD) and I have had hard time in snow with my All season tires. With these Blizzaks I feel more comfortable driving a RWD car than I did driving a FWD with all season tires. They are that good. I have beat several 4WD SUVs and AWD Audis (with all-season tires of course) off the line when taking off from a stop light. More importantly, the stopping distance and the ability to turn has been immensely improved. I can't quantify this, but I can say that compare to my 200SX with All-season, this car stops on a dime (in snow).

I know there are plenty of people who live in semi-snowy regions and don't think it's worth buying winter tires, so they settle for all-season. Some people get a 2nd car for the winter. I highly recommend you give these tires a try, they make a world of difference.

So what is the difference between a all weather tire and a snow tire? Do snow tires have those little metal spikes on them?

(forgive me, the only snow I see is on TV.)

Check out this one and you'll understand more about it. It is done by Canadian Gov.

Check out all 6. Well worth even if you don't drive in winter condition but to understand.

I see there is a big difference. So, the metal spiked tires are for ice I guess?

The winter tires I am talking about are Blizzak WS-60 (or WS-50). They don't have any metal spikes/studs.

The combination of the rubber compound (which works better in cold temperatures) and the thread design is what gives these tires the superior performance on snow/ice/cold pavement.

Nice movie zozo!!!Easy to understnd diference between SNOW and AllSeason tires in winter!

I have put Blizzaks WS-60 on my G and I can say: I AM THE KING OF THE ROAD this winter!!!! I bought new set with 17" wheels with 225/50 front and 225/55 rear, just like Tire Rack recommended for $800!! And this was in 100% best decision for my G Coupe. Seriously, in really BAAD weather conditions I feel very safety in my car and I am able to drive head to head with 4x4 SUVs. My recommendation for G's: Cheapest wheels (17") with Snow tires for winter and Nice Set with decent summer tires for the rest of the year!!!

yeah, i have a set of WS-60s as well, they are fantastic. I mounted them to a set of 17s vs. throwing a set of snows on my 18s. The difference is night and day!
