Are there any real differences in the Greddy and Blitz Lm intercoolers other than what i have found in the search, which are that the blitz comes w/ ALL necessary hardware and some pretty good instructions whereas the greddy might be missing some things and the instructions are practically non-existent? Also are the cores pretty similar?

The cores are different. The fin design on the blitz is much better than the greddy. the greddy is cheaper by what 100-200 bucks though? I guess if money is not much of an issue, go with the blitz, but if that 100-200 bucks will mean the difference between you not eating ramen and getting a real meal then get the greddy.

I've heard that some of the greddy kits don't come with everything, it might just be a myth though. The instructions, don't worry so much about that since the install of an FMIC is pretty straight forward.

i got the rspl which i think is about the same core design as the blitz or hks type s. the vspl is supposedly the crappy one. there were no instructions with it but it wasnt hard to figure out and it did come with everything even a bunch of little things i didnt even have to have like a cool chrome looking vacuum t and some blue vacuum line

Like the dude above said the RSPL really compares more with the other models listed. If you are looking for sub 400hp and are on a tight budget then get the greddy, but other wise get something nice and enjoy your new shinny .

ah right on. thanks for the clarification. I was under the impression that the vspl was just bigger than the rspl.

Enjuku Racing shows the cores to be the same size. I don't know about that, but the R-spec is a different core design.

VSPL's aren't that bad....... Enjuku is running it on their 400+hp Race Car. Both use a Tube and Fin design as with all the other FMIC's. Just a different style of tube and fin. Performance isn't really up to par as with the RSPL, LM and Type S, but if you are not really going with LARGE HP numbers then the VSPL wouldn't be that bad of a choice. It's the more economical choice I would say IMO.

in terms of the vspl does econonmical mean performance... i mean i plan on getting a s15 bbt28 so maybe 300-350hp with supporting mods thats about it though its a street driver, however i will be on the t-too-small for awhile so according to all this it should suffice correct, cuz i am really attracted to the blitz lm except for the price!

I don't see why the VSPL cannot handle the S15 turbo, especially on for street use.

The only thing I can think that you would want to upgrade above that for is a lot of road racing/auto-x where the intercooler would get heat soaked faster or if you are pushing 400++.

I bought a VSPL and will see how it works. If nothing else I can sell the core and upgrade later if I start racing a lot or my turbo upgrade plans change.

Blitz LM. The VSPL is simply less for less $. Either will work for your goals, but my LM came with a meaurement diagram, insructions, a slim battery relocation kit to make room for the coldpipe, battery extension bables, all hardware, etc. Then I bashed it head on into three solid aluminum locker type mailboxes (the kind that are bolted into concrete) at about 45mph, and a few tubes are pinched off, but it still doesn't leak.

I guess i'm just cheap. I got a used greddy vspl with srswap.com hotpipe and greddy typeS BOV for $500.

Probably not the best stuff or condition, but it works and was pretty cheap.

i spent roughly $1200 on my rspl, bov and hotpipe so $500 sounds good to me if its in fairly good condition

It has one bent tube, but it dosen't leak. Ano now that I straighted a few of the bent fins it looks fine.

Just a Quick FYI i have one of the hybrid intercoolers from Ebay not a bad piece for the money. However two things people should know 1) uses all the cheaper hose connectors, all of which are 3" no big deal until you get to the TB which although will seal with the supplied hardware i replaced with a nice 3" to 2.75 reduce that cost me $25 2)does not fit the nice hot pipes everyone sells the greddy/blitz pieces have a different angle on the pipe the meets the hot pipe ( by about 45 degrees or so) not a terrible probelm if expected but sucks when it catches you of guard later on a Sat. night and you wanna go out. Just tryin to help the community

On a side note, on intercoolers where the wastegate signal is on the hotpipe (Blitz, and HKS I think) Where excatly is the nipple? Is it on the piece that connects to the end tank? I ordered a HKS hotpipe and SSQV and it's not on there is it?

I have the VSPL and have no problems with it. If you are car dumb and don't know how to install an intercooler, get the LM. The only thing that sounds cool to me is the battery tie down. I got my tiedown from autozone for 11.99. As for fin designs, geez, all that goes down the hole from the massive amount of rocks that hit my intercooler. Bending them all back every week makes it a "tube and tweezer fin design".
