For a while now, I've wanted to recirculate my Blitz DD Bov. Blitz unfortunately does not sell a recirculation attachment like the other companies out there. I fell so madly in love with the Blitz Bov that nobody could convince me to get rid of it. After many hours of fruitless searching for how-to's on the subject, I decided to be the guinea pig. Everyone says "hack the filter", but nobody has pictures. That is no longer the case.

EDIT: I was talking out of my arse up there. I'd like to thank "robbbby" for his help before. Check out his post here: http://www.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=88084

The attachment now fits snugly into a 1" recirculation hose.

Stay tuned for more!

I finished everything right before sunset! So after recirculating the blitz, I experience the following things:

* doesn't stall if you go immediately into idle after blowing off (by holding the clutch pedal in, or immediately shifting to neutral)* doesn't backfire AS MUCH between shifts; (i might still be backfiring due to a separate fuel issue)* the bov is still audible and loud; HOWEVER, the deep wooooooosh has turned into WOO-ch-ch-ch-ch....... It sounds like the low boost fluttering except it's loud. I'm not dissapointed since I actually expected recirculation to take away the sounds entirely.

Here are some pix, i hope you enjoy them

I found my hose by browsing through the radiator hose section at my local auto parts store. All I did was estimate the height between the bov & recirculation nipple, looked for the U-shaped bend, and test fitted the hose with the attachment.

I dunno if you guys have Kragen Auto Parts where you're at, but the 1 inch hose I'm using has the following part information:

Curve Radiator Hose(B)71750CSBarcode reads: 038244355853

i've been told that maybe, just maybe, if you loosen the spring all the way, it'll be better. or maybe that only pertains to greddy type-s. hmm

but i got the recirculation working with a length of straight heater hose =D

actually, let me correct my mistake. i used the hose running from the stock bov to the intake instead of a length of straight heater hose

silly me

but here are some photos:

i apologize for the crappy quality (motorola mpx220 phone, 1.2 mp, but the ccd really really sucks)

peace

Am I allowed to call bull**** on this since you posted about this months ago and I showed you exactly how I did it by cutting the filter. I also posted pictures.

Oh crap, you are quite right robbbby! My apologies. I never followed through on your tutorial months ago, so I totally forgot about it.

robbbby is the man to ask if you're looking for another way to modify the filter attachment.

are you sure the new sound you get is supposed to sound like that and it's not actually compressor surge?

I've always had the chattering sound with or without recirculation when blowing off at lower boost . By recirculating the bov, the sound of higher boost blow offs has changed from Pschhhhhh to Pschh-ch-ch....

The only indication I had (with the atmospheric setup) of proper bov operation was loss of air or excessively rich condition --- by observing the car's tendency to stall on idle immediately following a "chattering" blow off.

If I was really experiencing compressor surge, that would mean that air was being forced back against the compressor blades right?-----which would mean that the bov was not opening up----which also means no loss of metered air --- hence no stallage. Therefore, if I was experiencing stallage with chattering blow offs, then I probably did not have compressor surge.

Do I have compressor surge? I sure hope not. I never adjusted the bov adjustment screw since I took the bov out of the factory box. If it wasn't surging before, I wouldn't think recirculating would make any difference----unless somebody can show me otherwise
