Ok, i got my sr a few days ago and i need an intercooler. I have almost enough saved up for it...I was thinking about the BLITZ LM but i have a few questions i hope you all can help me with.1. Is it nice? experience?2. Does it include ALL necessary piping? Does some need to be fabricated?3 If i need pipes made, where would i go to have them made? Thanks very much for the help!

I love it.Includes everything plus the bracket to relocate the windshield washer fluid resovoir. The kit I ordered from Enjuku, came with EVERYTHING, even the template to spray on "BLITZ" but with an s14 the way the front bumper is split, it looks like "BUTZ"

:)

I'm no FMIC authority here, but I'm helping a friend of mine with his swap, and he has a Greddy VSPL fmic. With his kit, it came with everything. Nothing from the side mount was retained, all the piping (turbo -> fmic -> throttle body) came with the intercooler. I think the only pipe you would need to have custom fabricated would be the hot pipe (turbo -> fmic) because different turbos mount different. But if you are keeping the stock turbo, the hot pipe that comes with the kit (either from Blitz or enjuku/ht/etc) will work, if the kit doesn't already include one, whoever you are buying the kit from should sell them. Also, even if you get a kit, you will need to have a custom pipe made to mount the bov. On my friend's car, Heavy Throttle welded a flange for his Greddy Type R bov on the hot pipe that they gave him with his intercooler. But since bov's mount different, this will also depend on your application. So generally, the kit will come with everything needed and will replace the stock piping. But your best bet is to call or email Heavy Throttle or Enjuku or wherever you are going to order the kit from, tell them your exact application and specifics of your setup and get the specifics from them to verify what you see on the boards.

OH yes! I finally found a pic of my motor in car with FMIC!I can finally put internet proof that there IS a CA in an S14!

Well to make a long story short... I bought a CA when they were $750 shipped 3 years ago, went through 4 turbos, and decided I wanted more, the motor was built, custom everything to fit the T3/T4 top mount, the motor blew just at 300 miles and I started feeling a gracious 10psi. The motor is being rebuilt again (rods were in backwards before). I am selling the SDS-EFI. Selling the turbo, manifold, and downpipe package. Selling the built motor and transmission. S14 Sr is on its way, and I will be sticking with stock ECU and turbo until I pay off my debt...then comes the fun!

and here is a pic of the motor-1st build

Oh and the reply from above... the blitz kit does actually use the stock side mount piping, JUST before it enters the sidewall. Right there, BLITZ includes a 2"-3" adapter and the rest of the piping. Let me see if i can find some pices of someone who did a write-up of it...

Ok, here is the run down... from phase2 about the Blitz IC:

Blitz actually makes a sweet hotpipe and BOV combo which is shown below... I used this pic to show where the piping goes for BLITZ. Keep in mind, this hotpipe is seperate.

Here is another shot of where the BLITZ IC piping starts on the drivers side.

The Blitz kit also comes with 2 power cable extension for the stock harness... but I did not use mine.

Now keep in mind, most other FMIC kits that include piping, you will need a hotpipe. You can find one for around $100. And other companies other than Blitz use a different path from the turbo to the IC (through the hole next to the coolant resivoir), so most hotpipes will not work with the Blitz IC.

I am really starting to dislike Geocities to post the previous pics.... if they do not show up on this page, right click the image and select "show image". This is at least working for me.

As for the painting... I ran the car before and after the paint, and I showed no difference in Air Temps after the IC. (notice the temp sensor in my engine pic). While painting, I was careful not to clog up the passages (my main concern).

NOOOO! Don't post pics of Wills car. His ego is bigger than anyones I know already. hehehe.

Anyway, I have seen the blitz kit, and it's almost the same as GReddy but it has a GANG of other accessories, which I definitely like. Also, that Blitz hotpipe doesn't come with the FMIC kit, it's additional, and it comes with the Blitz BOV. A nice combo, yes.

Nils, look on the picture of the harness near the battery. Look at the big red harness in front of the fusebox that has a yellow wire zip-tied to it. There are two grey harnesses that are plugged into the big red harness and have wire looms around them. Those are the two harness extensions. They are about 2" long, and probably not necessary, but obviously, they have their use.

I don't know if this is needed in your case, because this is an S14 SR into an S14, unlike yours, which is an S13 SR into an S14. You still might want to check it though.
