Blinking OD Light

I have a 2000 I30 that is running great, but I recently noticed when I start the car, the overdrive light blinks 16 times. The check engine light is on too, I think it read P0740. Is the blinking OD light something to worry about if the car is running OK?

After getting a diagnostic done at nissan, the problem appeared to have been a faulty solenoid.

I took it to a shop that a friend recommended and had the solenoid assembly replaced (shift solenoid valve)

The car now shifts much easier!Engine light gone.

There linked together, could be a sticking solenoid for the Torque Converter clutch or possibly just a loose connection...--Mike

Thanks for your help. Can you tell me where the clutch solenoid valve is located? Can I get a new one at NAPA or Adv Auto or is this a dealer part?

I cannot actually pin-point it's location on the car. It probably is a dealer item, but I would check NAPA first.--Mike
