My mom has a '03 Maxima w/ 98k miles and the SES has been coming on and going out for the past few months. I got it checked out by Nissan & it was the evap code so I told my mom 2 make sure when she gets gas 2 make sure the gas cap clicks...it was fine for a while then we were driving her car and the trans started down shifting crazy under normal driving then the car jus stopped moving as tho the trans went out so I pulled over there was no SES light or AT light on so i tried to accelerate & it would get to about 25mph and seemed as though the trans was slipping and wouldn't go any faster so we called roadside assistance to tow it to Nissan and when we got there the service manager and I drove it for about 30min and it ran fine So we took it home and it drove great for another 2 week until the SES light came on again and it was on for 2 days & went off...then the 2days ago when starting the car the AT light blinked continously for a couple of seconds and went off .....does any1 know what can be goin on with our Maxima....Nissan says nothing is wrong but the warranty is up in less than 2k miles & this is really bugging me and my mom doesnt wanna be left with expensive repairs after the warrany is up. please help! lol ...we r a Nissan family. Our cars consist of a '97 Max SE 5speed (240k miles), a '99 Altima GXE Auto (80k miles), '03 I35 (80k miles), '03 Max SE Auto (98k miles) and a '06 Titan SE (23k miles) we love Nissan!

It sounds like a definite electrical issue. You need to get it looked when the light is on. There are many things that could cause your concerns. We can give you more incite once you have more relevant codes. The CEL only flashes when there is code stored that will cause imminent damage to the catalysts. You may want to find an Infiniti dealer to take it to since you still have a warranty.
