OK, I'm stupid. On my 94 Q45, I pulled and replaced a few of the fusable links/solenoids under the hood while the key was turned on by accident. Also messed with a couple connections under the passenger side dash.Everything is OK now, except the air bag light blinks now. Is there a way to reset this?Gracias.

Just go through and check all the connections you messed with. All the airbag wires are marked yellow.

Wow, thanks for the fast response.I rechecked all the connections for the yellow wires under the pass side dash, and they all are solid connections. Silly light keeps blinking though. Additional ideas?

The are 20 pages of info and test proceedures in your service manual to determine which of 10 circuits are defective. As long as it blinks the air bags are not working.

Where can I get a shop manual?I checked at the local shops and nobody has one, or can even order one.

Had the same problem with my Q. Heres what you gotta do:

1. Insert the key and turn all the way on WITOUT starting the car.

2. Do this while leaving the driver side door open.

3. Press and release the dome light switch at least 5 times rapidly.

4. Turn car off and remove key

Next time you turn it on it should be gone.Looks like you put the car into "test mode". This WILL NOT WORK if you were in a collision and there is something wrong with the airbag.

If you take it to a dealer- they'll charge you $50 to do the same thing described above.CJ

Now for the real "idiot" question of the day: which switch are we talking about to operate the dome light? The same one that dims the dash lights by turning?

Thanks, and please pardon my ignorance!

I too would like to know what "Dome light button" in which you are reffering! I've tried following whats in the repair manual, but its rather criptic. My air-bag light has been blinking for quite some time.

Glad it here it worked - Its a pain to see it blinking while driving!!

The dome light switch is the one located at the base of the driver side door. Its the switch that controls the interior light as you open the door.

Keep in mind it will NOT WORK if the car was in a collision or there is something really wrong with the airbag.CJ

OHHH!!! You mean the driver's door pin switch. Well I just tried it and BOOYAH! It worked like a charm!!! Its so great to have that damned light not blinking anymore. Every time someone rides in the car with me they always warn me that the airbag light is blinking. Got annoying having to explain it over and over again. Thanks allot for the info CJQ45!!!!!!:ylsuper

While I am sure that the people with their air-bag lights on appreciate the info, I find it amazing that the methods described for this (and other simple things like re-programming key fobs) are so cryptic and obtuse and non-intuitive! I suppose you have to pick things that are not likely to be done in normal operation, but, really!

Wouldn't it have been easier to have a simple serial port jack somewhere in the car where you could plug in a computer keyboard or an old-style serial CRT terminal and do these kinds of things? Or is my computing background biasing me here?

Wish I'd known that about 3 years ago... wound up unplugging the light when I replaced the cluster lens. Maybe I'm a fatalist after all.
