While I am sure that the people with their air-bag lights on appreciate the info, I find it amazing that the methods described for this (and other simple things like re-programming key fobs) are so cryptic and obtuse and non-intuitive! I suppose you have to pick things that are not likely to be done in normal operation, but, really!
Wouldn't it have been easier to have a simple serial port jack somewhere in the car where you could plug in a computer keyboard or an old-style serial CRT terminal and do these kinds of things? Or is my computing background biasing me here?
