Hi All - I am new to the forum and new to Nissan. I picked up a used 2015 Rogue couple weeks ago and I have a question about the Blind Spot Warning system.

My Rogue's BSW orange warning light will illuminate and flash twice to indicate there is a car in my blind spot (detection zone). But what got me really confused is that I couldn't get the chime or beeping sound to work even if I activate my turn signal when there was a car in my blind spot and the orange light was illuminated. I checked the BSW option on the dashboard and it was on with the speaker icon beside its function name.

I brought the car back to the dealership today but they said unless the upcoming vehicle is real close to my car and if I also activate the turn signal and that's the only time the warning system will chime. Beside that, the BSW orange light will only flash. I am not so sure about that as I've seen videos on youtube where people got the chime sounded when they were testing the BSW on the road.

Thoughts?

I had a 15 Rogue SL and I would always get the audible warning when I activated my turn signal and a car was in the detection zone. It would be 2 beeps in quick succession with the orange light flashing. Never had to do anything to get it other than having the system on. Your salesman is an idiot. If a car is in the zone when you turn on the turn signal you should also get the beeps. Hell even my 2017.5 Murano does the same thing as my 15 Rogue did. Try watching the videos on the Nissan Owners Portal website or You Tube.

Clearly, the dealership that I went to is quite incompetent. I emailed Nissan Canada just now and asked them about this. Might need to send in my car into another dealership instead. What a waste of time!

If the driver then activates the turn signal, the system chimes twice and the Blind Spot Warning indicator light will flash.

I have a 2017 Rogue SL and it has a warning system switch on the lower left dash. Make sure the warning system is not turned off!

Just wait until it rains. You will be notified that there is a car in your blind spot continuously, even though you may be on the road alone. When water drips down onto the camera lenses, they detect the motion of the rain drops, and signal that there is something in your blind spot.
