I've done a little research but not much. I've got a 1990 240sx with a 91 ka24de. Basically, I blew my engine and now I want to do an sr swap. I was wondering what parts of the ka or parts in the engine bay that i could/should/need to keep. Mods I've got include intake, 10.2mm spark plug wires, 3 in exhaust from test pipe back, short throw shifter, flywheel clutch and presser plate and megan racing motor mounts and transmission mounts. Also, what else am i gonna need outside of what I already have and what the sr has on it. I plan on getting the sr with transmission all sensors harness ecu, turbo and igniter

If your getting a complete swap "all sensors, harness, ecu, turbo ,and igniter " its pretty much swap and drive, give or take $500 in random stuff. This topic has been covered 1000 times just use Google, or the big red blinking search bar to your right.

If you have the money for an sr20det swap have you considered rebuilding the Ka , its a good learning experience for novice mechanics, very easy to assemble and disassemble, plus if you can turbocharge it you may yeild better results. Im only saying this because I noticed you apparently were born in 1989 which means your probably only 20-21 years old, you MIGHT not have done to many motor swaps/builds. but you might not like the KA's and personally If I was too spend close to $2000 for a motor to swap I would be looking for a (98-up) ( possibly wrecked)z28 camaro with a manual LS1, they are getting popular.

Sure but so is an sr swap after all the B.S., Even my ka swap costed atleast $1500 in all the parts I wanted/ Needed.
I live in Fl, I saw a wrecked 98 z28 camaro with a 6 speed for $900, but It all really comes down to wants over needs, are you building a race car/ or a street car. for all we know this may be your Daily driver, and you might want it running asap, with descent gas mileage. just try to understand your price range according to your needs then worry about wants. But I would recommend a higher displacement motor, my brother has a 02 wrx ( 2.0t AWD) and im gonna spank that mofo when I turbo my KA

and by the way Im only 21 ( 1989 baby ) last of the generation x

The ls1 swap you will have more Fab work that will need to be done. The SR swap is by far the easiest swap I've done. Plus all your goodies...exhaust engine mounts short shifter etc can be used with your SR. You can even keep your transmission as an extra(only difference is bell housing's and gear ratios but not much difference.) The driveshaft can be reused and as long as you have everything it can be done in a weekend. You will need downpipe and some sort of fmic or stock intercooler and piping. You will have to do some minor Fab work if you want to use stock radiator, if not a koyo radiator with SR hoses fits perfect. If done fallowing the guide on here all gauges will work and will be running with ease. If the motor doesn't come with a mafs you will need a sohc 240sx mafs.
