Well, my old SOHC PoS blew it's headgasket the other night and I need transportation ASAP. I know Pulsar GTR and Boost_boy both said they're out for the moment, this is just a long shot in the dark. Does anyone have a reasonable priced clip/motorset for sale? Or maybe even a running SOHC KA near SE VA for sale? If I don't get my piglet back on the road, I'm going to be forced (by my father) to buy something reliable and cheap. He's picked out alot of Saturns/Hondas. I wanna shoot him but if that's what I have to do, I will. But I'd naturally rather keep the S13...

So in closing, help a brotha out if you can.

Thanks in advance!A very desperate and distraught Blake.

Edit: Anyone have a CA harness? :pface

you should be able to find a sohc ka for free somewhere. if you are willing to go up to jersey, go on dgtrials.com, talk to some people on there. try fake_adam.

dang. Va Beach, but I have a 192k? DOHC motor coming out in the next week or 2 to be replaced w/ a CA18. It ran pretty well for the couple of weeks I've had it.

Hello,

First post - been lurking for about a year while having the CA built. Wasn't planning to post until I had all my pictures uploaded to Imagestation, but I'll let you know what I have:

Complete CA18DET (short list):- Rebuilt engine (gaskets, rings, etc) with new accessories- Metal head gasket- CA16DE Cams- T3/T4 Turbo internally wastegated (new)- Log manifold- 300ZX MAFS- Complete Harness- ECU tuned by Glen "Lumpy" Campbell for all mods- CA18 Bellhousing & transmission

Much more, but I don't have time to list at work. The motor has been test-fitted for the manifold, but not yet started. If you're interested, email me at [email protected], as my Hotmail is on the fritz.

Thanks,Chris Bryant

You didn't blow your motor, you blew your headgasket :pface

And you know I have a dohc motor just laying around here, why I'm a last resort is beyond me:confused:

Bah, don't be such a chick. :pface

I just need a SOHC motor (which is lined up, as you know) to last me 'til I get ahold of the CA, and the whole wiring swap for a DE for just the short term isn't very logical. :)

As to why I'm selling the motor....

I have a baby on the way and will be building a new, larger house while rates are low. Hate to see it go, but all the other turbo goodies I have may find their way onto a lower mileage KA....we'll see.

Anywho, I'll make a more detailed post when get all the pictures of each component uploaded. Just as a tease, here it is during a test fit. It looked so good under the Cusco CA STB....

Guess you didn't get my eMail a couple days ago, Chris? Oh well...probably wouldn't be able to afford it is as is.Anyones else get their CA from Venus? :pface I know they have a somewhat spotty record with the occasional dented oilpan and the like, but they seem like they're improving and good customer service/part replacement...

Mine was from them the only crap problem ive had is gaskets which is no issue considering the age of the motor.

Venus has HORRIBLE customer service. If you can put up with that, and minor damage to the the motorset, then go ahead and order from them. Their motors are generally in pretty decent condition. Mine was anyways, except for a dented oil pan, cracked transmission plate, and a couple broken connectors. The inside of the motor was in great shape, even the bearings showed little to no wear.

No, I didn't get anything SeVa-S13. If you sent it to my Hotmail, I may never see it - still on the fritz.

As for price, I'm looking for $4,000. This includes EVERYTHING but I/C, I/C plumbing and downpipe. Everything else is new or rebuilt - a zero miles, +300HP motor & transmission.

Despite it's quite apparent kick ***-ness, I'm afraid I lack the funds, as predicted. =\But somebody please give that thing a good home. :)

At this point, I prefer to sell the motorset as a complete package. I know it's a lot of cash up front, but it's worth it. The ECU even has three chips pre-programmed for 93 octane with all the components.

If I decide to part, I'll let you know though.

Thanks,Chris

First of all, are the chips 3 different programs? I'm seriously intrested in this, but I just don't know if I want to spend my entire tax return on it, when there are some things that I don't want/need. I personally don't want the exhaust mani (I KNOW you could get that sold), that turbo, or the ecu and wiring. I could take the engine and transmission, but I'd just sell the transmission too. I'm pretty confident that you could get rid of the "other" stuff. I know some people have been getting the automatic CA's because they aren't beat up and so you could get a good price for just that transmission because people are looking for them. I think the hardest part to get rid of would the the ecu, and you could just eBay that up. Anyway, just some stuff to think about.

Secondly, was this originally a FWD engine/a CA18DE(non-turbo)? The reason that I ask is because the intake manifold side valve cover has the FWD/CA18DE PCV outlet on it instead of the CA18DET outlet. Just noticed and I thought I would ask.
